To Do List For 21/6/07:

- Wish those who take note of such things a Happy Solstice.

- Acknowledge receipt of parcel of interesting clothing from the wondersome Silver. Take pics as requested by her ;-) [Note: they won't be posted on this blog, I'll put them in a password-protected folder on my gallery: if you want to see them, say so and I'll mail you the password to the email address you put in below.]

- Don't acknowledge receipt of parcel from Cathy, because it's not arrived yet :-( .

- Following the success1 of the dooberythingygadget experiment, remove all the dead wood2 from my Zen mp3 player and fill it up with the loud, the weird, and the both, for summer all-windows-down sod-the-neighbours rockment.

- Upgrade this blog's WordPress software to 2.2.1, which is a right pain in the 'arris to do involving far too much froggin' about in FTP. It's still worth 'going it alone' though [see below].

- Thank Rebecca for her recommendation of The Long Blondes' Lust In The Movies.

- Whilst we're thanking people, bless Zo for helping me move out of Xanga, which was down for 24 hours yesterday. It's not the downtime that was galling so much as the utter lack of information: a note just said "Down for maintenance – back soon!" – which was a lie: they were down because of a DDOS. And now they're back up, there's no easily findable explanation, just a short note hidden on one of the manager's blogs. Nice bit of customer service there; that's why I left.

- More Zazen.

- Less crisps.

1 Qualified success, in that you have to turn the player almost to full volume to get any decent sound out of it, which makes it interesting if you then forget to turn it back down and put the earphones back in….
2 Don't get me wrong, I love Berlioz's Requiem, but it's not exactly driving material. Well, not if you want to keep awake, that is….

    Now that you mention it – L has the same problem with her doohickeythingybopper. (but she is quite happy with it regardless)

    You are right about Xanga. (though I didn't mind the false note yesterday as much as having to search to find out what happened…)

    I'd like the password, please! :-)
